Cette fin de semaine, Créations Oropendola a participé à son premier marché intitulé Artisans and ALL FAIR!
Ce fut une belle expérience qui nous a permis de faire découvrir nos créations. Nous remercions les visiteurs qui ont pris le temps de venir faire un tour au marché ! Nous avons aimé ce contact direct avec nos clients et pouvoir expliquer notre démarche derrière nos objets.
Ce fut aussi pour nous l’occasion de rencontrer d’autres artisans et de faire notre entrée dans cette communauté. Plusieurs ont pris le temps de nous parler du monde dans lequel nous débutons. Nous gardons précieusement leurs conseils avec nous pour la suite de notre aventure et nous espérons les revoir dans d’autres marchés.
Nous aimerions vous parler de plusieurs de ces artisans qui nous ont particulièrement touché par leurs créations, leur énergie et leur sens du partage. La proximité de nos kiosks a aussi permis d’avoir un échange privilégier avec eux.
Dès notre arrivée, nous nous sommes sentis au Mexique avec Sara Rosas de Mex Thé et Herbes (Tisanes Aztèques). Produits sur les terres familiales de l’état de Puebla, ces thés et tisanes biologiques nous ont transportés dans ces contrées où nous étions il n’y a pas si longtemps. Le mélange chaï mais surtout le moringa ont fait voyager nos papilles et ramené à notre mémoire les couleurs de ce pays.
Nous avons été attirés par le stand de Natural Spirit Creations. Des capteurs de rêves décoraient leur mur. Des morceaux de bois et des fleurs séchées servaient de supports à la présentation de leurs créations tout en légèreté : bijoux fait de métal, intégrant le bois ou la pierre, personnages en métal semblant avoir leur vie propre. Camille et Colline sont les deux créatrices derrières ces objets fait main avec beaucoup de finesse et de talent.
Une autre créatrice nous a touché par son sens artistique et sa gentillesse. Il s’agit de Stella de Bijoux Jaro avec ses créations bobo-chic, comme elle les définit. Ses bijoux et accessoires sont lumineux et les mélanges de matières qu’elle utilise les rendent uniques.
Jessica a fondé Scrumptious Oils il y a quelques mois. Elle propose toute une gamme de produits (crèmes pour le corps, exfoliants, masques réparateur pour cheveux, etc.) composés de différentes huiles bio pour le bien-être du corps, de la tête aux pieds. Toutes les recettes sont ses propres créations.
Meagan travaille dans l’entreprise familiale Zetï. Elle nous propose d’intégrer les cristaux et les pierres pour notre bien-être physique et spirituel.
Nous vous recommandons d’aller voir ce que proposent ces artisanes. Nous espérons que leur talent vous touchera comme il nous a touché.
Nous préparons maintenant Créations Oropendola pour le festival Chants de vielles à Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu les 29, 30 juin et 1er juillet. En attendant, vous pouvez retrouvez nos créations sur ETSY. Si d’ici là d’autres dates de marché s’ajoutent à notre agenda, nous vous préviendrons.

This weekend, Creations Oropendola attended its first market, Artisans and ALL FAIR!
It was a great experience and we were delighted to be able to show off our creations. We would like to give special thanks to everyone who took the time to come to the market! We very much enjoyed having this direct contact with our customers and being able to explain the process that goes into the creation of our products.
It was also a great opportunity for us to meet other artisans and make our debut in this community. Several of them were kind enough to take the time to tell us about this world in which we have just entered. We will keep the kind advice that they gave us close to our hearts and we hope to see them again in future markets.
We would also like to talk about several other artisans who’s creations, energy and sense of sharing had a great impact on us. The proximity of our kiosks also allowed us to build a special bond with them.
With the first artisan we encountered, it was as if we had just arrived in Mexico with Sara Rosas from de Mex Thé et Herbes (Tisanes Aztèques)! Produced on her family lands in the state of Puebla, these organic and herbal teas were able to transported us to this country where we were not so long ago. The mix of the chai tea, and above all, the moringa herbal tea evoked vivid memories and reminded us of the bright colours that we ourselves had found in this beautiful place.
The next artisan who caught our attention was Natural Spirit Creations. It was dream catchers that decorated their wall. They used small tree branches and dried flowers to present their products, all of which were full of light. The jewellery was primarily made from metal, integrating wood or stones. These beautiful creations appeared to have their own life! This jewellery was all handmade with great finesse and talent by Camille and Colline.
Another creator who had an impact on was Stella from Bijoux Jaro with her ‘bobo-chic’ (as she calls them) creations. We will remember her for her artistic sense and kindness. Her creations radiated light in a wonderful way and the mix of materials in her jewellery and accessories made them fantastically unique.
Our next encounter was with Jessica who founded Scrumptious Oils only a few months ago. She offers a wide range of products (body cream, scrub, hair repair masque, etc.) made with different organic oils that aid well-being of the body from head to feet. All of her recipes are her own creations.
Next was Meagan who works in her family business Zetï. Her creations integrate crystals and stones for physical and spiritual well-being.
We strongly recommend that you go and see what these great artisans have to offer at the next market! We hope their talent will inspire you as much as it did us.
We are currently preparing Creations Oropendola for the music festival, Chants de vielles at Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu on June 29th, 30th and July 1st. In the mean time you can find our creations on ETSY. If any new market dates are added to our agenda, we will keep you posted.
